DaphineDays

We spoke to London based Senior PR & Communications Manager Anicka Wintle about her jewellery stories. Equipped with a disposable camera, she took us on a day in her life.

  1. Tell us about yourself
I relocated to London in 2016, after growing up between Hong Kong and Australia. I now live in North London with my fiancé.  I’m obsessed with all things food and I'm regularly trying to find my new favourite spot to eat, be that in London or around the world.
  2. What comes first, outfit or jewels?
I feel like the wrong answer is outfit but for me I like to start with my outfit and then use my jewellery to enhance my look. I wear jewellery everyday and have pieces I will always wear but then I’ll make slight tweaks depending on what I’m wearing.
  3. What is your first jewellery memory?
My mum lost one of her diamond earrings when I was younger. They were heart shaped and so she had the remaining earring turned into a necklace. I loved it so much and would play with it so she told me when I was 18 I could have it.
  4. Is there a piece of jewellery that is particularly special to you?
I have a bracelet that my fiancé gave to me in our first year of dating. It has two love birds on it and I’ve never taken it off since the day he gave it to me, I think it was the first piece of jewellery he ever gave to me.
  5. What is the one piece of jewellery that you think automatically elevates your outfit when going out?
I’m pretty minimal so if I’m going out and want to make more of an impact I’ll layer necklaces and chains - all I will do is add more to my look. My regular look but just more of it!
  6. What is your favourite Daphine piece?
I love the mini Oli hoops. I never usually wear earrings but these are the perfect size for me, just subtle enough.
  7. Who are women who inspire you?
It’s cliché but my mum. Her strength, humility, and dedication have always been a huge inspiration to me, and I wouldn't be half the person I am now without her, not to mention she has impeccable style!
  8. What are your goals for 2021?
I saw a quote which I think sums up my 2021 goals and intentions “Happiness is the new rich. Inner peace is the new success. Health is the new wealth. Kindness is the new cool”.

TIPS & TRICKS

Your ring should fit your finger comfortably, snug enough so that it will not fall off but loose enough to slide over your knuckle with some resistance.

For best results measure your finger size at the end of the day and when your fingers are their largest.

Don’t measure when your body temperature is either too cold or too hot. Only measure when fingers are at room temperature.

If you hesitate between two sizes, always go with the larger one.

If you are purchasing a wide band, you will be more comfortable moving up a half size from your measurement.
